a new belt

My super crafty sister in law came up with these belts a few months ago and I wanted to make one since I thought the D-rings would make it way more comfy than a tie in the back. I was SO right! I'm kicking myself for not making one sooner. The D-Ring allows it to stretch out a little bit (but not too much!) when I sit down and its super easy to cinch back up. SO comfortable on my pregnant belly!

some new stuff

made these for a dear friend...i really like the way they turned out! Color possibilities for the top one are endless!

I'm so excited to make a bunch of accessories for my pregnant belly over the coming months. I just need to figure out how to make them more adjustable. Of course I could always do ones that tie in the back but I really love the thick ones too! We'll see...

Rose belt

If you don't know already, my amazing sister in law makes awesome felt flower belts and clips. Shes starting an etsy shop soon so I'll be sure to tell you about that. So exciting! So anyway, this has been in my head for a long time now ever since I saw this tutorial on how to make these felt roses. I've had these roses made since before Easter and they've just been waiting around for me to get less busy! So here is my rose belt. The belt itself is about 3 inches thick.

*PS. I REALLLLLLY want to start decorating cakes again!

Easter Ties

not like this is anything new or special, but at least its not a failure! Can't wait to dress my cute boys in them.

Sometimes when I create something I'm like "hey! I can kind of sew and I'm learning!" but today was like "um, I never want to sew again..."

Or like how today I went to level this cake and it came out looking like this. thank goodness its going to be covered in fondant.

**I need a cake level STAT!

I conquered the felt flower

My sister in law makes amazing felt flowers so naturally I wanted to copy :). I am a copier. I have NO artistic ability really, I just like to see other peoples ideas and try my hand at it. (like all my cakes are copies you know) I tried last night and I was SO frustrated! But tonight Liz and I taught the young women how to do headbands or hairclips. I did the satin and she did the felt. So I took good mental notes and came home and tried it! So fun!

Liz is super crafty and I can't believe how much she sews! See her crafts here.

Oh and the shirt pictured is an XL shirt from Shade. I found it for $5 at the outlet and I cut it down to fit me. It turned out to be an awesome idea since when I try and buy my size they are never long enough. So now I'll just buy bigger sizes and make them fit me!
